Orange Chicken

8 pieces chicken
1/4 cup margarine
11 oz. can mandarin oranges
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 T. cornstarch
1 T. prepared mustard
1 T. cider vineager
1/4 cup pineapple preserves
1/2 t. garlic powder
1 T. minced onions
1/2 cup diced green peppers

Saute chicken in margarine until golden brown; Set aside. Drain mandarin oranges saving juice.  Add to this juice 1/2 cup maple syrup and 1/4 cup soy sauce.  Use a small amount of this juice to stir with 1 tablespoon cornstarch.  When this is smooth add 1 tablespoon prepared mustard, 1 tablespoon vinegar, 1/4 cup pineapple preserves, the garlic powder and onion.  Stir all together and pour sauce over chicken.  Cook covered approximately 50 minutes at 350 degrees.  Last add the green pepper and mandarin oranges.  Cook approx. 10 minutes more.
