Didn't use this exact recipe, but I make something like this a lot. It's pretty authentic, I was served this in Italy near Genoa, but the g.b. and potatoes were more like a garnish. I throw some toasted pine nuts on at the end as well. I use the TJ's pesto that's in the refrigerator case--the shelf stable one in the jar does not have olive oil.
